A welding gauge is a specialized precision tool used by welders and quality inspectors to measure and verify the dimensions of a weld joint. These tools ensure that welds meet the required structural engineering specifications and safety codes.

• Fillet Weld Size: Measures both the leg length (the distance from the root to the toe) and the throat thickness (the shortest distance from the root to the face).
• Misalignment (Hi-Lo): Evaluates internal alignment gaps or height discrepancies between two joint pieces before or after fit-up.
• Weld Reinforcement (Crown Height): Checks the height of the weld cap or bead excess.
• Defect Checks: Measures the depth of undercuts or pits, and compares pore sizes for porosity counts.
• Preparation Angles: Measures the bevel angle of a joint end before welding takes place.
