BT Weld Gasless 11 MIG Wire (5 kg) is a premium-grade, self-shielded flux-cored welding wire engineered for mild and galvanised steel fabrication, structural work, and field repairs without external shielding gas. Operating on DC- polarity, it delivers a smooth spray-type arc with exceptionally low spatter and a fast-freezing slag that facilitates welding in all positions.
Key Specifications & Application Rules
- AWS Classification: Conforms to AWS A5.20 E71T-11.
- Thickness & Passes: Optimized for butt, lap, and fillet welds on mild steels less than 3/4" thick. It is recommended to limit applications to three passes to maintain mechanical properties and weld deposit chemistry.
- Packaging: Vacuum foil-sealed to prevent moisture contamination before opening.
- Check Spool Compatibility: Ensure your MIG welder's internal housing and drive rollers can accommodate a standard 200mm / 5 kg spool.
- Select the Right Diameter: It is available in 0.8mm, 0.9mm, and 1.2mm diameters; choose based on your machine's amperage ranges and material thickness.
- Preheating Rules: When welding on steels between 3/8” to 1/2” thick, preheating the steel to 325–375°F (162–190°C) is strongly advised.
